Voice of a bird

My day always begins with a whisper of a bird.
The bird is singing wherever I am and whatever I am doing.
Sometimes, the voice gets loud and sometimes more gentle.
There are also times when her call disappears.
I do not know where she goes at the end of each day.

“I want to remain attentive to the subtle presence that drifts through familiar landscapes, as if listening to the birdsong coming from somewhere unseen.”

The artist speaks these words from a place far removed from any conscious ambition to construct photographic works. Instead, drawn by the “birdsong” of the title, she simply continues to release the shutter.
At times a call of courtship, at others a warning, the voices of birds continually swell and fade. Though not a single bird appears throughout the book, their echoes seem to resonate across its pages.
